We are located in North Little Rock, Arkansas and have been raising Toy Poodles for over 16 years, specializing in black, brown, white and silver. We breed for quality, temperament and brains with beauty. We have puppies available on occasion for show or pet. Our poodles are sold with a written health guarantee also against genetic defects. All puppies are sold will have their registration papers either full or limited. The pets are sold with limited papers and a spay/neuter contract. Limited means this dog can be registered but its offspring cannot be registered. Our puppies are reasonably priced. Shipping is available when weather permits. Limited registration is for pets that should not be reproducing.
Only the ones selected for improvement of the breed should be allowed to reproduce. This will help eliminate genetic defects and produce a beautiful sound poodle. The responsible breeders have carefully selected breeding mates to improve the poodles down through the many years and generations to eliminate faults and problems. By doing this they have produced poodles of today that are intelligent, beautiful, graceful, keep their eyesight and stay healthy so they can live longer.
Ask for a pedigree, this will let you know the dogs ancestors and how well or not so well in some cases the dog has been bred through years and generations of breeding.
I do suggest if you cannot find a good responsible breeder in your area, do not get in a hurry to buy simply because you can find a dog close to your area. Some people are not conscientious breeders, they are just back yard puppy mills or pet manufacturers making dogs. They have no regards to the faults and problems of the dogs they are breeding.
A pet store is not the place to buy a puppy or dog, most of these came from puppy mills, and like the backyard breeders they are only raising puppies for the money. With no regards to the quality they are producing. The prices are certainly not reasonable and neither will be the vet bills. The owners will soon get tired of the vet bills, bad health and the dog will be dumped or put in an animal shelter. Keep in mind they are not to take care of us, they are here for our companions and we are to take care of them.
It cost's no more to feed a well bred dog than a poorly bred one, the initial cost of the dog may be some what higher but certainly worth it in the years ahead. These poodles can live from 10 to 15 years, maybe longer and I certainly would rather look at a pretty one than one that is not. Keep in mind all dogs are cute as puppies.
Regardless of the breed you decide to buy, do some research first. There are plenty of books and literature available, go to the library or book store read about the breed you like and see if that is the one for you before purchasing a puppy.
The more information you can provide concerning the poodle you are looking for and about yourself, the more able I will be to help you.
